But upon seeing Amity's shock that she was hiding something so important, Luz, realizing how much trouble was caused by hiding it, breaks the facade. She tells Amity about how her dad would bring flowers for her and her mom on their birthdays, and that after he passed, she and her mom would pick flowers for each other instead, followed by visiting her dad's grave, and spending the day together. She then notes that it is the first year she's not with her mom, and admits to being jealous or needing a distraction when Amity mentioned the problems with her dad. After Luz apologizes, Amity attempts to console her, but they hear some screaming in the distance before she can do so. Amity starts running, and Luz, finding herself unable to move, tells Amity she'll catch up later.
Luz then runs off and joins Eda and King as they fly off, but she forgets her phone on the school steps, which Amity takes. One day before school, Luz is teaching Eda and Lilith what she knows about glyphs and questions if there are more when Hooty tells her it is time to go. As she enters school, Willow and Gus greet her and Amity presents Luz with a fairy pie. The four are soon called to the principal's office where Bump, with Amity's mother and father, tells the group that Luz, Willow, and Gus are expelled. When they get off, Luz apologizes for the incident and Amity brushes off the idea of them being a couple. After King and Eda explain that Hooty helped them, Luz says he was helping her ask Amity out. As King and Eda subdue Hooty, the girls fall into a small pit and the two ask each other out. As they venture through the forbidden stacks, they hide from Malphas, the master librarian.
Although Lilith was head of the Emperor's coven, in "Wing it Like Witches", it is implied that Emperor Belos put a lot of pressure on her when it came to capturing her sister Eda. In "Agony of a Witch" it is revealed that Belos does not value Lilith since he effortlessly threatened to banish her from his coven and suggested casting her out of the Emperor's Coven as a criminal and possibly executing her if she didn't bring Eda in. Despite this treatment, Lilith did not question his words, nor did she fight back. After Belos reveals that he will not remove Eda's curse, she finally realizes that she had been lied to and rebels against him to rescue her sister. Despite his antagonism, Belos is shown to have a somewhat fond connection to Luz for being a human, hoping to convince her to drop her affection for witches and the Demon Realm, and return to Earth with him.

Belos is an elderly human with a fair complexion, cornflower-blue eyes and long, rough-looking, ash-blond hair reaching past his shoulders. He has wrinkly lips and a notch on his left ear similar to his nephew Hunter. Most prominently though, he has a large, basil-green scar, running across his face and down his neck with holes that seem to be eroding it, an indication of how severely his unknown illness is affecting him. "Hollow Mind" implies that he sliced his own ears so they could resemble ears that belonged to a witch.
Eventually, Belos stumbles upon her within the Collector's archives and states that someone in the room is indeed useful to him. Odalia fearfully believes that he is referring to her, but he is actually talking about Raine. At some point during his time on the Boiling Isles, Belos found out about the existence of the Collector. He was able to find and communicate with him, manipulating him into helping him destroy all life in the Demon Realm by promising to free him from his prison with Titan's Blood. When Lilith was caught by Belos trying to rescue her sister, he has Lilith and King thrown into the same cage as Eda to be petrified with her. Enraged that Lilith betrayed him and the Coven and her rescue by Luz, he appoints the Golden Guard as the new leader of the Emperor's Coven, expelling Lilith (in-absentia) from the coven in the process.

Despite her loyalty, however, Belos held utterly no gratitude for Kikimora's years of service and devotion towards him, regarding her with the same hatred he possessed for all the Isles' inhabitants. In truth, Belos regarded Kikimora as incompetent and useless, having demoted her several times for her constant failures, and is unimpressed by her numerous attempts to please him. During Coven Day, he even ordered Terra Snapdragon to assassinate her if she chose to desert him during the holiday parade and gave her no reward when she proved her dedication to him, only permitting her to live a little longer in his service. As it turns out, Lilith met Belos back when he was Philip and out of righteous fury over his attempt to sacrifice herself and Luz, punched Philip in the face and broke his nose.
It is implied in "Hunting Palismen" and "Eclipse Lake" that Belos would physically abuse Hunter should he ever fail his missions. When Hunter learns the truth about Belos after getting sent into his mind, he decides to destroy him too and make another grimwalker, though Hunter flees at that point. Following this, Belos sent Coven Scouts to look for and retrieve Hunter in order to dispose of him. As he gains control of the Titan, the Collector, now appreciating the value of friendship and forgiveness, attempts to make Belos realize his mistakes.
Luz is worried that Amity will find her cheesy like everyone did back home, stating that Amity is "smart, cool, and classy", so asking her out should be breathtaking, emotional and real. Later, she finds Amity in the basement, who has been kidnapped and brought there by Hooty. When Amity mentions wanting to forget about the kiss at Blight Manor, Luz gets worried and quickly changes the subject. Upon finding themselves in the Tunnel of Love that Hooty had set up for them, Luz starts worrying that Amity will make fun of her like how she was made fun of back home, and starts destroying the Tunnel of Love out of embarrassment. When she tries telling Amity that the whole thing was stupid, Amity sadly believes that she meant that the idea of them dating was stupid, causing Luz to realize that she had upset Amity and made the situation worse.
(Don’t worry! Killing the main character off in the middle of the finale also isn’t the move in a story fundamentally about finding one’s place and being around people who love you.) But for a good five minutes, it feels like it just might be for real. And the episode gives this Disney Death just enough time to feel impactful, but doesn’t drag it out so it’s a gotcha moment five seconds before the end. Amity and the rest of Luz’s friends are shell-shocked in the moments before they rally. Most heartbreakingly, Luz’s mother Camila — who is still trapped in a frozen puppet form — sheds a tear. In season two, Kikimora shows more of her ruthless side as she uses her dragon in an attempt to murder Hunter and take credit for his mission of retrieving palismen.
